Description
ABB Residual Current Breaker Over Current Protection (RCBO) DS201 6000 APR y type, C characteristic – Excellent Anti-Nuisance Tripping Protection
The ABB DS201 series RCBO (Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection) is an advanced, two-module solution engineered for the comprehensive protection of end-user single-phase circuits in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications.
This robust 1P+N device integrates the functions of an MCB and an RCD, providing protection against four primary electrical hazards: short-circuit currents, overload currents, indirect contact, and additional protection against direct contact.
A critical feature is its APR Type operating characteristic. The APR (Anti-Nuisance Tripping) technology offers a unique balance of safety and service continuity by providing high resistance to unwanted tripping caused by temporary surge currents generated from external factors like lightning or switching operations, with a surge current resistance of up to 3000 A.
Conforming to the IEC/EN 61009 standard, the DS201 has a breaking capacity of 6000 A (6kA) and a reliable C characteristic tripping curve, making it ideal for circuits with moderate inrush currents.
Installation is made easier and faster due to the innovative bi-directional cylinder-lift terminals, allowing for secure connection with both cables and busbars. Further enhancing operational visibility, the device includes a Contact Position Indicator (CPI) and a dedicated earth fault indicator for rapid troubleshooting and maintenance. The ABB DS201 is the compact, modern choice for complete circuit safety.
