The Voltage surge protector device BY7-B/BY7-C Series represents a critical layer of defense for all low-voltage electrical systems, designed specifically to guard against the damaging effects of indirect lightning strikes and switching over voltages.
As a robust Type 2 Voltage Surge Protector Device (tested with an 8/20 µs current wave), this series is the ideal main protection system for low-voltage switchboards and branch distribution cabinets in commercial, industrial, and residential applications (220/380V nominal).
The high-performance BY7-B model offers superior capacity with a maximum discharge current (Imax) of up to 60kA and a nominal discharge current (In) of 30kA.
Both the BY7-B and BY7-C models boast an ultra-fast response time of less than 25 nanoseconds (<25ns), ensuring rapid diversion of transient energy to protect connected sensitive loads and electrical appliances.
Installation is simple and reliable via 35mm DIN rail mounting (EN 50022), and the device is housed for IP20 protection when installed in an enclosure.
The modular design features visual display indication (Green for functional, Red for failed) and includes an optional remote signal terminal for long-distance monitoring, allowing maintenance teams to easily monitor the protector’s operational status and ensure continuous defense against damaging surges.
